The Pac-12 men’s basketball year-end awards were handed out Monday, with Arizona’s Deandre Ayton winning Pac-12 Player of the Year and Pac-12 Freshman of the Year. Shouts go out to U-Dub’s Matisse Thybulle for being named Pac-12 Defensive POTY, Washington State’s Robert Franks for getting Most Improved, Arizona State’s Remy Martin and CU’s Dominique Collier for being Co-Sixth Men of the Year, Stanford’s Dorian Pickens for Scholar-Athlete OTY and Washington’s Mike Hopkins for earning Pac-12 Coach of the Year honors in his first season.

Stanford

CBS Sports bracketologist Jerry Palm writes that Stanford men’s basketball is a potential NCAA tournament “bid-stealer.” The Cardinal started out the season rough due to injuries but went 11-7 in the Pac-12 and has as good of a shot as anybody to win the Pac-12 Tournament, in Palm’s eyes.

Utah

Lynn Worthy writes that Utah men’s basketball exceeded expectations this year by nabbing the No. 3 seed at the Pac-12 Tournament. Larry Krystkowiak and the Utes were picked to finish seventh in the preseason poll.

Oregon

Tyson Alger writes that Oregon men’s basketball coach Dana Altman is pleased with Payton Pritchard’s progression as a sophomore guard for the Ducks. Pritchard was named second team All-Pac-12 on Monday after averaging 14.6 points and 4.8 assists during the regular season.

Colorado

Pat Rooney lets us know that former Colorado men’s basketball player Dustin Thomas was kicked off the Arkansas basketball team for a violation of team rules.

USC

According to Rivals.com and linked here by NBC Sports, former Michigan offensive coordinator Tim Drevno will reportedly be the next running backs coach at USC.

Washington women’s soccer’s Sam Kokoska was named a finalist for the Arthur Ashe Sports Scholar of the Year by Diverse Magazine, it was announced Monday. Props.
