This Week - League play is in full swing with all six teams in action this weekend.
- Colorado (1-4) hosts Stanford (2-3, 1-0) on Friday, March 17 in a rematch of the 2021 Pac-12 Tournament Championship.
- The Cardinal won its Pac-12 opener against California back in February for its third-straight conference-opening win. The two teams split their matchups last season, with the Buffaloes winning 17-16 over then-No. 14 Stanford before the Cardinal won, 16-9.
- Arizona State (1-4) visits USC (5-2) on Friday in a rematch of last year’s semifinal.
- Then-No. 23 Arizona State upset then-No. 16 USC last time out to reach the Pac-12 Championship. Mina Scott scored the game winner with 2:41 left in regulation, and Katie Vahle made four saves in the instant classic.
- The Trojans have one eight of their last 10 against the Sun Devils.
- Oregon (3-2) returns home to take on California (2-5, 0-1) to wrap up Friday play.
- The Ducks are off to their best start since 2018 in which they began 4-2, with both of those losses coming against ranked teams.
- California versus Colorado, and Stanford at Oregon headline action on Sunday, March 19.
- The Buffaloes have one 10 straight against the Golden Bears.
- The Cardinal has won seven or more league games in every season of the Pac-12 era (excluding the COVID-shortened 2020 campaign).

- California topped Howard, 17-1, despite atmospheric river conditions.
- Quinnlyn Mason scored a hat trick, and 13 Golden Bears scored a goal in the victory.
- It was the fewest goals allowed by a Pac-12 team since 2019, and the fewest goals ever allowed in the Pac-12 era in a non-conference game. Cal is one of 11 teams this year to allow one goal or fewer.
- The win was the largest margin of victory for a Pac-12 team in a non-conference game since Arizona State vs. Fresno in 2021, which was also 16 (22-6).
- Cal fell 11-10 to American to wrap up its homestand.
- Colorado earned its first win of the season against Ohio State, 14-10.
- The Buffaloes netted six goals in the second quarter and five in the fourth to seal the win.
- Charlie Rudy scored five goals, and ranks second in the league with 18.
- Stanford got back in the win column with a thrilling 21-20 win against UAlbany.
- Annabel Frist netted a career high eight goals and added an assist and 13 draw controls to earn the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week award.
- The 21 goals are the most scored by a Pac-12 team this season, and second time Stanford has eclipsed the 20-goal mark this year.
- Then-No. 20 USC dropped a top-25 road contest to then-No. 16 Princeton, 11-8, before bouncing back against Hofstra in the 9-8 victory.
- Alexis Niblock caused three turnovers and scooped up four ground balls against the Tigers en route to earning Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week honors.
- Maggie Brown scored three goals against Hofstra, and paces the Trojans with 14 goals this season.
Notes and Numbers
- USC jumped up to No. 18 in the latest IWLCA poll, with Stanford coming in at No. 21.
- Stanford’s Frist earned IWLCA Co-Offensive Player of the Week honors after her dominant performance against UAlbany.
- Frist becomes the fifth Pac-12 player to earn IWLCA recognition, first since 2021, and third Cardinal in the Pac-12 era.
- Colorado head coach Ann Elliott Whidden is one win away from the 100-win club. She currently has the 44th-most victories among active D1 head coaches.
- Colorado’s Rudy is second in the country in shots per game (9.20) and tied-for-third in shots on goal per game (6.60).
- Frist is second in the nation in free position goals per game at 1.67.
- Arizona State boasts the second highest clearing percentage in Division I at a .957 clip.
- Stanford and USC have some of the toughest non-conference schedules in the country. All three of Stanford’s losses have come against ranked teams (then-No. 13 Virginia, then-No. 19 Jacksonville and then-No. 6 Stony Brook), and both of USC’s setbacks are against ranked teams on the road (then-No. 3 Boston College and then-No. 16 Princeton).
2023 Pac-12 Tournament

The 2023 Pac-12 Women’s Lacrosse Tournament will take place in Berkeley, California from May 3-6, and the tournament champion will receive the Pac-12’s automatic bid to the 29-team 2023 NCAA Tournament. All five contests of the 2023 Pac-12 Women’s Lacrosse Tournament are slated to be broadcast on Pac-12 Network and the Pac-12 Now app. The five contests are part of 17 Pac-12 Networks will broadcast this season.
