Six Wildcats Named to NFCA All-Region Teams

TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Softball placed six on the NFCA All-West Region teams announced by the association on Thursday. Three Wildcats – Dakota Kennedy, Regan Shockey, and Allie Skaggs – were named to the first team. Aissa Silva earned second team honors while Olivia DiNardo and Carlie Scupin were named to the third team.
 
The six Wildcats are now eligible for the 2024 NFCA Division I All-America teams, which will be announced on Wednesday, May 29.

Skaggs is receiving her third all-region nod and second first-team honor. The senior from Louisville, Kentucky earned first-team All-Pac-12 honors last week and leads Arizona and ranks sixth in the conference with 13 home runs. Her 44 RBI leads the team and is fourth in the Pac-12 and her .633 slugging percentage is fourth on the team.
 
Kennedy is earning her second All-West honor and is a first-team member for the first time in her career. Last week, the Sacramento, California native was named to the All-Pac-12 first team and to the Pac-12 All-Defensive team. The left fielder is batting .400 which ranks second on the team and leads Arizona with 40 walks and 48 runs scored. Kennedy leads the conference and ranks 17th in the NCAA with a .525 on-base percentage.
 
Shockey is a first-team all-region honoree for the first time in her career. The freshman centerfielder from Chino Hills, California leads Arizona with a .413 batting average, 76 hits, and eight stolen bases. Her batting average ranks 39th in the nation and fourth among all NCAA freshmen. Shockey's 76 hits ranks 14th overall and second among NCAA freshmen and is seventh in Arizona freshman history. Shockey was named to the NFCA Freshman Top 10 List and to the All-Pac-12 first team, all-defensive team, and all-freshman team last week.
 
Silva is earning her first career All-West region nod. The sophomore from Tucson, Arizona leads the team and ranks second in the conference with 21 victories which ranks 18th in the NCAA. Silva leads Arizona with 102 strikeouts and was named to the All-Pac-12 second team last week.
 
Scupin is receiving all-region honors for the fourth time in her career and is a third-team selection for the second time. Last week, the Tucson, Arizona native earned her first All-Pac-12 and all-defensive team nods. Scupin leads the team and ranks second in the Pac-12 and 25th in the NCAA with 56 RBI. She ranks ninth in the Pac-12 with 12 home runs and 13th with a .635 slugging percentage.
 
DiNardo is earning All-West honors for the second straight season. The designated player from San Mateo, California leads Arizona with 13 home runs and is third on the team with 35 RBI. She ranks sixth in the conference in home runs and 12th with a .636 slugging percentage.
