SAN FRANCISCO - Seven Pac-12 women's basketball student-athletes are among the 24 athletes slated to participate in the 2023 USA Women’s U19 National Team trials at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Trials begin May 12 and the 12-member team expected to be announced on May 15. The 2023 FIBA U19 Women’s World Cup is scheduled for July 15-23 in Madrid.

Leading the group are three members of the league's All-Freshman team from 2022-23 in Oregon's Grace VanSlooten, also an All-Conference honorable mention pick, and UCLA's Londynn Jones and Kiki Rice. That trio is joined by another who just wrapped up her debut collegiate campaign in Stanford's Talana Lepolo, a Pac-12 All-Freshman honorable mention selection in late February.

Also in Colorado Springs are three highly-rated recruits - Arizona's Breya Cunningham, Stanford's Courtney Ogden and USC's Juju Watkins - who will be freshmen on their Pac-12 campuses this fall. Cunningham was the No. 14 recruit in the country according to espnW HoopGurlz, Ogden was No. 10 and Watkins was the nation's top-ranked recruit.

The 2023 FIBA U19 Women’s World Cup features 16 teams and the United States is in Group B with Chinese Taipei, Germany and Mali. The USA has won the gold medal at the competition in eight of the last nine editions, including the last two.
