Defending Pac-12 champion USC was voted first in the 2024 Pac-12 Women’s Lacrosse preseason coaches poll.

The Trojans, who kick off the season ranked No. 17 by the IWLCA, earned 48 points and six first-place votes in the poll. USC won last season’s regular season and tournament titles, and welcome back reigning Pac-12 Midfielder of the Year Claudia Shevitz, as well as the 2023 Pac-12 Co-Goalkeeper of the Year Kait Devir.

Stanford was selected to finish second with 44 points and a pair of first-place votes. The Cardinal added six players ranked on Inside Lacrosse’s Class of 2023 Power 100 Incoming Freshman rankings: No. 14 Aliya Polisky, No. 16 Lindsey Devir, No. 24 Ava Arceri, No. 32 Shae Lembo, No. 54 Anna Colpack & No. 71 Ellie Johnson.

Colorado was tabbed to finish third with 37 points. The Buffaloes reached the Pac-12 Tournament championship game in 2023 and are coming off of back-to-back 11-win seasons. Arizona State, who was picked to finish fourth (31 points), return reigning Pac-12 Freshman of the Year Teagan Ng and the 2023 league leader in saves in Katie Vahle.

In fifth is Oregon (21 points), who will be led by former Duck standout Jessica Drummond in her first season as head coach. UC Davis was selected to finish sixth in their first season in the Pac-12.

California (14 points) and San Diego State (13 points) round out the poll in seventh and eighth, respectively.

The 2024 campaign begins on Friday, February 9 with six contests, including a top-20 matchup between No. 17 USC and No. 15 Army.

The 2024 Pac-12 Tournament takes place at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum from May 1-4, and all five games will air across Pac-12 Networks. Schedule and television information for the 2024 season can be found here.
