QUICK HITS

  • Cal's 58 home runs lead the conference and are 15th nationally. The school record for long balls in a season is 84 in 2012.
  • The Bears are among the top three in the Pac-12 in several other offensive categories, including runs (224, 2nd), hits (341, 3rd), doubles (63, 1st), RBI (203, 2nd) and extra-base hits (124, 1st).

  • Anzaldo reached a career milestone on Wednesday night at Fresno State, notching her 200th career base hit. The senior from Whittier also set a new career best with four base hits in the game (4-for-4).
  • The Bears check in at No. 24 in the sixth NCAA RPI of the season. Cal was No. 9 in the initial rankings, its highest since reaching No. 2 in 2012.
  • Cal is ranked No. 20 in this week's NFCA poll and No. 24 by USA Softball, while the Bears are receiving votes in the Softball America and D1 Softball rankings.
  • Acacia Anders became the second Golden Bear to win Pac-12 Player of the Week honors this season March 25 after hitting .500 (8-for-16), collecting two home runs and three doubles to go with six RBI. Her two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning Saturday vs. then-No. 21 Arizona ignited then-No. 19 Cal's comeback from five runs down to take a 7-6 win in nine innings. The Vacaville native hit another two-run shot in the sixth inning Sunday, extending Cal's lead to 8-4 as the Bears hung on for an 8-7 victory to secure the series. Her two-run homer tied the game against then-No. 17/21 Virginia Tech as the Bears went on to a 6-5, eight-inning victory over the Hokies.
