UW Signs Mekhi Mason To Men's Basketball Roster

Apr 26, 2024

SEATTLE – Washington head men's basketball coach Danny Sprinkle announced the first addition to the 2024-25 roster as Mekhi Mason joins the Huskies from Rice.

Mason, a 6'5" guard from Gilbert, Ariz., started all 67 games in two seasons with the Owls. He ranked second on the team in scoring, averaging 14.0 points per game and 4.0 rebounds per game as a sophomore last season.

"We're excited to add Mekhi Mason to our roster," Sprinkle said. "He is a tremendously athletic guard who can impact the game in multiple ways. Mekhi is dedicated to success in basketball and in the classroom and will be a great fit at Washington. His potential is limitless as he is still very young for his age, and I can see him making a huge jump."

Mason shot 38.6 percent from three-point range during conference play last season, ranking in the top ten of the American Athletic Conference. Mason scored a career-high 30 points last February against UTSA, earning AAC Player of the Week honors as a result. He was named to the Conference USA All-Freshman Team in his first collegiate season.
