Pac-12 Tournament Seeding on the Line in Final Weekend

THIS WEEK
No. 23/24 Oregon closes out the regular season at No. 6/7 Stanford Friday though Sunday at Smith Family Stadium. The Ducks will then remain in the Bay Area for the Pac-12 Tournament, hosted by Stanford. Oregon's first game will be in the quarterfinals on April 9.

CARLSON MAKES PLAYER OF THE YEAR PUSH
Ariel Carlson is the only player ranked among the Pac-12's top 5 in 2B (4th - 11), HR (2nd - 14), RBI (2nd - 51), SB (5th - 17), slugging (4th - .748) and total bases (2nd - 101). She enters the week one HR and one RBI out of the Pac-12 lead. The only Duck to lead the Pac-12 in homers was Ann Marie Topps with 19 in 2007. Anna Poore (44, 1991) and Jenn Salling (73, 2007) are the Ducks' two RBI champs.

Oregon natives Ariel Carlson and Alyssa Daniell have combined for 24 home runs, 21 doubles and 89 RBI.

1,500 - Combined, Oregon's 9 seniors have played 1,500 career games entering the week.
25 - Kai Luschar leads the Pac-12 in stolen bases with 25. She's also tied for first in runs (45) and second in average (.440).
81 - Oregon leads the Pac-12 and ranks 27th nationally with 81 stolen bases on the season.
67 - Oregon is second in the Pac-12 with 67 2B. Ariel Carlson has 11, while Alyssa Daniell, Hanna Delgado and Val Wong all have 10.
42 - Ariel Carlson now has 42 career home runs and is fourth on the UO career list.
14 - Ariel Carlson is the one of only 3 players in Division I with 14+ HR and 14+ steals.

CARLSON CHASING PAC-12 HOME RUN, RBI CROWNS
Ariel Carlson is second in the Pac-12 leader in home runs (14) and RBI (51), one behind the leaders. Oregon's lone conference home run champion is Ann Marie Topps with her school-record 19 home runs in 2007. The Ducks have had the league's RBI leader twice - Jenn Salling in 2007 (73) and Anna Poor in 1991 (44). Carlson is also fourth in the Pac-12 in slugging percentage (.756), fourth in doubles (11) and fifth in stolen bases (17). She's 25-for-67 (.373) in league games with nine home runs and 23 RBI. She also has seven stolen base in Pac-12 play.

CARLSON CAREER WATCH
Ariel Carlson recently became just the fourth player in program history to reach 40 career home runs and now has 42. She is three behind Gwen Svekis (45, 2015-18) for third. Carlson also recently entered he school's top 10 in career RBIs and is now tied or sixth at 155 with Samantha Pappas (2010-13). 

COMBINATION OF POWER & SPEED SEPARATES CARLSON
Ariel Carlson's combination of speed and power sets her apart. She is one of only three players in Division I - and the only one in the Pac-12 - with 14-plus home runs and 14-plus stolen bases.

LUSCHAR LEADING OFF
Kai Luschar leads the Pac-12 in steals (25) and is third in hits (66), second in average (.440) and fourth in on-base percentage (.494). Nationally, she's 14th in batting average, 21st in steals and 26th in hits. Her career average of .406 is second in program history, while her season average is currently fifth all-time. She's also now in the single-season top 10 for stolen bases (tied for 10th with Danica Mercado, 2017).

NO FREE PASSES
Oregon has issued the fewest walks in the Pac-12, 80, which is also the 13th fewest free passes given out nationally. Morgan Scott (1.58), Stevie Hansen (1.86) and Taylour Spencer (1.96) are all walking fewer than two batters per 7 IP.

SCOTT CLIMBS SAVES LIST
With a save last week versus Northern Colorado, Morgan Scott now has 12 saves in her Oregon career, which is second on the UO career list. Oregon's career saves leader is Cheridan Hawkins, who had 17 saves (2013-16). With the three saves she recorded at UNC Greensboro, Scott is now third in the NCAA among active player with 15 career saves.

ELITE LEVEL DEFENSE
A hallmark of coach Melyssa Lombardi's program, Oregon is again one of the best defensive teams in the nation. The Ducks are 26th nationally and third in the Pac-12 and in fielding percentage (.974). Two years ago (2022), Oregon led the Pac-12 and ranked 10th nationally with a .977 fielding percentage. That mark tied the program record set the year before (2021). 

GLOVE WORK
Oregon committed two errors in the season opener against Maryland and then had a stretch of 23 games committing one error or less. The streak ended when the Ducks had two errors March 16 at Utah. Oregon has 20 error-free games, 17 single-error games, five two error games and one three-error game so far in 2024.
