CORVALLIS, Ore. – The UCLA baseball team absorbed a 15-1 run-rule loss to No. 7 Oregon State on Sunday afternoon at Goss Stadium.

The result completed a weekend sweep for the Beavers (39-12, 17-9 Pac-12). The Bruins moved to 16-33, 6-21.

OSU scored in each of its first five offensive innings, building a 14-run lead by the end of the fifth. The game was called after the end of the top of the seventh with the run rule in effect.

UCLA got on the board in the top of the fifth, with three consecutive Bruins reaching to push across a run. Redshirt junior center fielder AJ Salgado had the big knock of that rally, punching one through the left side to score freshman catcher Blake Balsz from second.

Duce Gourson and Balsz both also had knocks for the Bruins.

Freshman righty Justin Lee had the most success of the four pitchers used by the Bruins, tossing a 1-2-3 sixth inning.

OSU was led by center fielder Micah McDowell, who finished with two home runs and six RBIs. Three other Beavers finished with multiple RBIs.

UCLA will conclude its 2024 season next weekend, hosting Stanford for a Thursday-to-Saturday series at Jackie Robinson Stadium. The Bruins will honor their graduating senior class before the start of Saturday's game.
