Washington's John Ross returns kick for 100-yard touchdown against UCLA

Nov 8, 2014

John Ross is the most recent Husky to become a two-way player.

The speedy receiver slid into a defensive back role this week, but it was his special team duties that stood out in Washington's 44-30 loss to UCLA on Saturday. WIth the Huskies trailing by 25 in the third quarter, Ross gave UW a spark by returning a kickoff 100 yards for a score.

The explosive Ross first made a name for himself last season by returning a kick 100 yards for a touchdown in the Fight Hunger Bowl. This year, he's continued to shine but has also had a number of kickoff returns called back because of penalties. Finally getting a clean return against the Bruins made it just that much sweet for the sophomore from Long Beach, Calif.
