WINDERMERE, Fla. --- The Washington men's golf team is tied for seventh place after completing the first round of play at the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational on Sunday. The Huskies shot a 1-under par 287 in their first round at Isleworth Country Club.

"There was nice playing out there today from the guys," said head coach Alan Murray. "We finished poorly but that doesn't take away from the fact that they played really well. Noah had a great round and a 3-under par at Isleworth is a very good score. I was proud of how Padraic battled back. Henry, Jan and Paul all played very good rounds as well and could have been better. We are eager to get back out there tomorrow and try to beat today's round."

The Dawgs were led by sophomore Noah Woolsey who is tied for seventh place after carding a 3-under par round of 69. Woolsey recorded six birdies in his opening round which was tied third most in the field.

Junior Henry Lee posted an even par round of 72, and is tied for 27th place. Freshman Paul Margolis is tied for 37th place after carding a 1-over par round of 73.

Sophomore Jan Schneider also shot a round of 73 in his first round, and he is tied for 37th at 1-over par. Freshman Padraic Sim posted a 2-over round par of 74 which puts him in a tied for 45h place. Sim shot 3-over on his first nine holes but rallied to shoot 1-under in the last nine.
