Dawgs Head Into Final Round Of Play Tied For Fourth At Mountain View Collegiate

SADDLEBROOKE, Ariz. – The Washington women's golf team shot a 2-under round of 286 on Saturday at the Mountain View Collegiate. The Huskies are tied for fourth place at 4-under par heading into the final round of play.

"Proud of Wenyung and Rino as they have put themselves in a position to be in the hunt tomorrow," said head coach Mary Lou Mulflur. "We definitely left some birdies out there which means we are close to taking it deep. We're excited for the final round."

Sophomore Rino Sasaki is tied for third place at 5-under par after shooting a 2-under round of 70 on Saturday at Saddlebrooke Golf Club. Sasaki is 4-under on the par-5's which is good for second in the field. Sasaki has carded nine birdies through two rounds.

Freshman Martha Lewis shot a 2-under round of 70 to put her in a tie for 17th place at 1-under par.

Junior Karen Miyamoto is tied for 28th place at 1-over for the tournament. Miyamoto posted a 2-over round of 74 on Saturday.

Senior Julianne Alvarez shot a 2-over round of 74 and is tied for 38th place at 3-over par.

Junior Alice Duan shot an even par round of 72 in her second round and is tied for 48th place at 4-over par.

Senior Wenyung Keh, who is playing as an individual, is tied for fifth at 4-under par after shooting a second consecutive 2-under round of 70. Keh has rolled in 9 birdie putts over her two rounds.

 Senior Sarah Rhee posted a 1-under round of 71, to get to 3-under for the tournament. Rhee heads into the third round of play tied for 10th place.

Also playing as an individual, sophomore Wenyan Ma is in 76th place at 16-over after shooting a round of 82.

Texas State leads the tournament at 12-under and is four shots ahead of second place UNLV. Polly Mack of UNLV leads the individual completion at 7-under par.

The Huskies will begin final round play on Sunday beginning at 8 a.m. in a shotgun start.
