Pac-12 announces women's soccer players of the week

Offensive: Averie Collins, SR, Washington State (Bozeman, Mont.)

• Scored her fourth goal of the season to help then-No. 17 Washington State earn an overtime win over Gonzaga (1-0).
• Netted her second-straight game-winning goal in the first nine seconds of extra time against the Bulldogs. 
• Second-career player of the week honor, Washington State’s 28th all-time. Earned her first player of the week honor in 2016 while a member of the Stanford team.  

Defensive: Emily Smith, JR, California (Los Gatos, Calif.)

• Helped California remain one of the last two teams in the nation with only clean sheets defeating both San Diego (3-0) and Montana (1-0). The Bears’ five-game shutout streak to start the season marks the third time in program history and is their longest streak since the 2017 season.
• Led a backline that extended the Bears’ five-game winning streak and held the Toreros to their first scoreless match of the season.
• California’s defense has only allowed four shots on goal this season, the fewest of any D1 team so far this season. 
• Earns her first defensive player of the week honor, California’s 45th all-time.

• Notched a pair of shutout wins last week as the Trojans remain unbeaten this season after taking down Northern Arizona (3-0) and Nebraska (2-0).
• Competed in all 180 minutes of play this weekend, posting seven saves, including a career-high six against Nebraska. 
• First player of the week honor, USC’s 46th all-time.
