USC's Okongwu first to sweep Pac-12 Men's Basketball weekly awards

USC freshman Onyeka Okongwu collects his first Pac-12 Men's Basketball weekly honors as the league's first dual recipient of Player and Freshman of the Week awards as voted on by media who cover the league.

• Okongwu averaged 25.0 points on 58 percent shooting (14-24 FG) along with 5.5 rebounds and 3.5 blocks to become the first dual recipient of Pac-12 Player and Freshman of the Week awards.
• The 6-9 forward erupted for a career-best 33 points in a 91-84 victory over Pepperdine. He shot 8-of-11 from the field and 17-of-21 at the foul line. The 17 free throws are currently tied for the most by an NCAA Division I player this season and were the most by a Conference player since Stanford's Reid Travis (19) in Dec. 2016.
• The 33 points versus the Waves were the most by a Conference player this season and tied for the third-most by a freshman in Division I. They were also the most by a USC rookie since O.J. Mayo in 2008.
• Added 17 points, six rebounds and five blocks in a 70-61 loss to unbeaten Temple.
• As of Nov. 25, Okongwu ranks fourth nationally among freshmen in field goal percentage (60.6%), fifth in rebounding (8.8 rpg) and seventh in scoring (18.0 ppg).
