LAS VEGAS – Sophomore Mouhamed Gueye and junior TJ Bamba both earned 2022-23 Pac-12 All-Conference honors, the Pac-12 Conference announced Tuesday. Gueye was named to the All-Pac-12 First Team and All-Defensive Team Honorable Mention, while Bamba garnered All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention.
Gueye, the Pac-12's leader in double-doubles and offensive rebounding, was one of 10 players named to the Pac-12 First Team. The Senegalese sophomore has tallied 15 double-doubles this season, while averaging 14.5 points per game (ninth in Pac-12) and 8.7 rebounds per game (second in Pac-12). The honor is Gueye's second Conference recognition after earning Pac-12 All-Freshman Team recognition last year. Prior to the start of the season, Gueye was named an All-Pac-12 selection by members of the media.
Bamba picked up conference honors of the first time as an All-Conference honorable mention. The Bronx native led WSU in scoring, averaging 15.7 points per game (eighth in Pac-12), including a career-high 36 points at Washington, March 2. Bamba scored in double figures 21 times during the regular season, including six games with 20+ points, and led WSU is scoring 10 times.
With two honorees, Washington State has garnered multiple all-conference selections for the third-consecutive season and fourth time in the last five seasons.
