SAN FRANCISCO - The Pac-12 Conference announced the 2023 Pac-12 Women's Gymnastics All-Conference honors and Annual Awards, presented by Gatorade, on Tuesday morning. For a second consecutive year, Oregon State's Jade Carey earned Gymnast of the Year honors and Utah's Maile O'Keefe was named the Specialist of the Year. UCLA's Selena Harris was named the Freshman of the Year and Arizona State's Jay Santos was named the Coach of the Year for the second time in his career. The individual award recipients are voted on by the league's head coaches.

Gymnast of the Year: Jade Carey, Fr., Oregon State (Phoenix, Ariz.)

Olympic Gold Medalist and Beaver sophomore Jade Carey is the Pac-12 Gymnast of the Year for a second consecutive season, becoming just the third gymnast in conference history to earn the honor in back-to-back years and the seventh overall to earn the award twice during a career. Carey was even more impressive in her second collegiate campaign, leading the Pac-12 with seven Perfect 10 scores in 2023, which included her first career 10.0 on beam to become just the 13th gymnast in NCAA history to complete the gym slam (earning a 10.0 on every event during a career). Carey won her second straight Pac-12 All-Around title at last weekend's Pac-12 Championships, picking up Pac-12 titles on the floor and beam as well. Carey enters NCAA Regionals with the top all-around (39.820) and floor (9.985) NQS in the country, while she ranks second on vault (9.960), tied for fourth on bars (9.965) and second on beam (9.975). The Phoenix, Arizona native set a new career-high of 39.875 in the all-around in back-to-back meets this season, with the score ranking tied for second-highest in the country in 2023. Carey also swept the all-around title and all four event titles in a single meet three different times and posted two 10.0s in the same meet three separate times this year. She earned the Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week award six times in 2023, giving her 15 career weekly honors over the last two seasons.

Specialist of the Year: Maile O'Keefe, Jr., Utah (Las Vegas, Nev.)

O'Keefe has now collected three straight Pac-12 Annual Awards after being named the 2021 Gymnast of the Year and the Pac-12 Specialist of the Year each of the last two seasons. The senior "beam queen" had another outstanding year on the event, leading the country in NQS (9.980) and scoring a 9.90 or better on all but one routine. Her three Perfect 10s on beam this season matched her own program record for most in a season, while she set a new Utah program record for most career 10.0s on beam with seven. The Las Vegas native has a team-best 12 event victories in 2023 and has hit 28 out of 29 routines. O'Keefe has also scored a 9.90 or better on bars in half of the competitions and in four of six floor routines this season. Forced into being an emergency all-around competitor after a teammate's injury late in the season, O'Keefe delivered for the Utes, taking second in the all-around behind Carey and finishing in the top three on beam and bars to help Utah win its third straight Pac-12 title at the 2023 Championships. She earned back-to-back Specialist of the Week honors this year, giving her 11 total weekly awards for her career (Note: O'Keefe remained eligible for the Specialist award due to not having a NQS for the all-around).

Freshman of the Year: Selena Harris, UCLA (Las Vegas, Nev.)

Selena Harris is the second Bruin freshman in the last three years to be named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year after teammate Chae Campbell earned the honor in 2021. Harris, the No. 1-ranked recruit in the country last year, has lived up to that billing as not only one of the best freshmen in the Pac-12 but also in the nation. The freshman from Las Vegas sat in the top seven of the all-around NQS every week of the season, which included two weeks at No. 3 overall, scoring 39.500 or higher on all nine of her all-around attempts this year. Harris has competed in 43 out of 44 possible routines in 2023, hitting on all 43. She's averaging over 9.9 on bars, beam and floor with her beam NQS (9.945) ranking tied for ninth and her all-around NQS (39.680) ranking sixth-best in the country. The freshman has collected 10 individual victories this year and finished third overall in the all-around at the 2023 Pac-12 Championships. She was named the Pac-12 Freshman/Newcomer of the Week six times overall in 2023, which included winning the award five consecutive weeks to start the season to tie the conference record for consecutive weekly awards in the category.

Coach of the Year: Jay Santos, Arizona State

Arizona State head coach Jay Santos earns the honor for the second time in his Sun Devil career after he was named the 2018 Pac-12 Coach of the Year in his second season. Since arriving in Tempe, Santos has elevated the Sun Devils into a top-20 program in the country, leading ASU to a fifth straight NCAA Regional and a third consecutive top-16 seed. ASU's NQS of 197.105 marks just the third time that the Sun Devils ended the regular season with an NQS above 197, two of which have been under Santos. The Gym Devils had an eight-meet run of scoring 196.000 or better in 2023, which included a three-meet winning streak that saw ASU upset then-No. 4 Utah for the first time since 2003, set a program-record road score (197.475) at Washington and handed No. 11 Oregon State its first loss of the season with the ninth-highest score (197.725) in program history. The Sun Devils kicked off postseason competition taking first in the opening session at the 2023 Pac-12 Championships with the program's third-highest score (196.700) all-time at the conference championship meet.
