Three Beavers Selected in MLS SuperDraft

NEW YORK, N.Y. Three Oregon State men's soccer players were selected in Tuesday's MLS SuperDraft, headlined by first-round selection Logan Farrington.

Farrington was selected by FC Dallas with the No. 3 overall pick. He becomes the third player in Oregon State history selected in the first three picks for the draft, joining Danny Mwanga (No. 1 in 2010) and Khiry Shelton (No. 2 in 2015). Turner Humphrey will join Farrington in Dallas, as he was selected with the 15th pick of the second round. Javier Armas was taken with the 19th pick of the second round by Atlanta United.

The three selections this year marks the highest single-draft total in Oregon State history, and the fifth time the Beavers have had multiple players selected in the same draft class. OSU has now had a total of 17 players drafted in program history.

Farrington was tabbed as an All-American by both the United Soccer Coaches and Top Drawer Soccer. The forward was the Pac-12 Player of the Year and the conference's Offensive Player of the Year. Farrington scored 15 goals this season and finished the year with 37 points, tying him for the highest point total in program history. The forward, who started his collegiate career at Milwaukee, has netted a total of 35 goals as a college player.

Humphrey started all 22 games this season, helping lock down an Oregon State back-line that held seven clean sheets. The defender scored one goal and recorded one assist on the season.

Armas was a United Soccer Coaches All-American and an All-Pac-12 first team honoree this year. The Spaniard started all 20 matches he played this season, and recorded a total of four assists. He was an integral part of an Oregon State back-line that has posted seven shutouts this year.

Oregon State made a run to its first ever College Cup this season, earning postseason victories over Seattle U, Portland, SMU and North Carolina to earn a spot in college soccer's biggest event. The Beavers ended the campaign with a record of 11-6-5 in head coach Greg Dalby's first season in charge.

The 2024 Major League Soccer season is slated to begin in February.
