CORVALLIS, Ore. Oregon State junior Jade Carey will compete at the 2023 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships this Friday and Sunday at SAP Center in San Jose, Calif.

The Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships serve as the selection competition for USA Gymnastics' National Teams for junior and senior women and men and will determine the men's rosters for the 2023 FIG World Championships in Antwerp, Belgium and the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile, which will be held this fall. Women's competition will help determine invitees to the Pan American Games/World Championships selection camp in September.

Carey starts on floor as the opener on the apparatus during the first rotation, she will rotate to vault as the sixth of seven competitors, compete third on bars in the third rotation and finish second on beam to close the first day of action. Friday's competition is set to begin at 5 p.m. PT on Peacock.

On day two, Carey will be the last competitor on bars during the first rotation. She then heads to beam as the fifth athlete up on the apparatus. Carey will compete third of six on floor during the third rotation before finishing the competition on vault as the first competitor up on the final rotation. Saturday's action starts at 3:30 p.m. PT.

Carey has previously won a pair of U.S. Championships title, winning on vault in both 2022 and 2017, with eight total medals at the U.S. Championships dating back to 2017.

A year ago, at the 2022 U.S. Championships, Carey took first in vault and fifth in the all-around in addition to being named the USA Gymnastics Athlete of the Year.

Carey scored a 110.900 to earn a place on the 2022-23 U.S. Senior National Team.
