A punishing defense led Utah football past Washington State by a final of 24-13 on Saturday, September 25th in Salt Lake City. The Utes pressured Washington State quarterbacks all game, collecting eight sacks and 13 tackles for loss. Clark Phillips had the shining defensive play of the game, making a clutch interception and returning it 54-yards for a score. T.J. Pledger had a strong afternoon on the ground, rushing for 117 yards and a touchdown.
