LONG BEACH, Calif. – The 18th-ranked Arizona State University baseball team could not recover from a seven-run inning and fell to Long Beach State, 11-0, on Friday night at Blair Field in Long Beach, Calif.

The Dirtbags (1-4) took advantage and broke open the scoreless tie with seven runs on three hits and a fielding error.

The Sun Devils (2-3) matched LBSU with seven hits in the game, including two each from sophomore designated hitter RJ Ybarra and junior right fielder Trever Allen.

Senior right-hander Zak Miller tossed three consecutive scoreless innings before surrendering three runs in the bottom of the seventh on an RBI single and a two-run homer to right field.

Burr took his first loss as a starter as he allowed six runs on two hits and four walks, and struck out three in 2 1/3 innings.
