No. 11 Huskies Return Home To Face ASU

SEATTLE – After more than three weeks since their last home game, the 11th-ranked Huskies return to Husky Softball Stadium for a three-game Pac-12 series against the Arizona State Sun Devils.

The first of the three games begins Thursday, April 17th at 4:00 p.m., with game two on Friday at 4:00 p.m. The series will wrap up Saturday with first pitch at 11:00 a.m.

While the Huskies (24-11) have been away from home, they have had road games at Oregon, Seattle U, and Stanford, where they claimed a series win from the Cardinal.

The Huskies lead the all-time series vs. Arizona State (38-6) by a count of 49-26.

Krista Blunk and Tammy Blackburn will have the call for the Thursday and Friday games on the Pac-12 Networks.

Game One: Thursday, April 17 vs. Arizona State at 4:00 p.m.

Promotions: Youth softball players and Little Leaguers can purchase $3 general admission tickets. Tickets must be purchased by parents or coaches 24 hours in advance through the Husky Ticket Office (3910 Montlake Blvd.). Game Three: Saturday, April 19 vs. Arizona State at 11:00 a.m.

Promotions: Celebrate Easter Weekend at Husky Softball Stadium with a postgame Easter Egg Hunt in the outfield. The first 100 fans through the gates will receive limited-edition trading cards featuring the junior class.

·      The Huskies are ranked No. 11 in the most recent USA Today/NFCA Poll as well as No. 11 in the latest ESPN.com/USA Softball Poll.

·      The Huskies swept this week’s Pac-12 Player of the Week awards, as Kaitlin Inglesby was named Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week and Kylee Lahners was named Pac-12 Player of the Week after the Huskies captured the series win at Stanford. Inglesby went 2-0 in three appearances with two complete-games, while Lahners batted .500 (5x10), with one double, two home runs, and four RBI. Lahners hit two home runs in the Huskies 11-2 victory Saturday, setting a new single-season career high for home runs with 12 and simultaneously recording her first multi-home run game.

·      Bryana Walker (9th overall, Pennsylvania Rebellion), Kaitlin Inglesby (14th overall, Akron Racers), and Victoria Hayward (19th overall, Pennsylvania Rebellion) were selected in the 2014 NPF Draft on March 31. The Huskies three selections in the 2014 Draft are the most of any school this year.

·      Make a day of Husky Sports this Saturday as the Huskies take on ASU at 11:00 a.m. and the football teams hosts a fan fest at 10:00 a.m. on the East Field. Stick around for the Spring Preview at 1:00 p.m. Fans can enjoy free, first-come, first serve tickets to the temporary bleachers and standing room along the first base and right field line at Husky Softball Stadium.

·       New this year to Husky Softball is the Team of the Game promotion. Youth softball team with players currently in 8th grade and under, plus two coaches, will receive free General Admission tickets, be on the field with the Huskies for the national anthem, and receive an autographed team poster, as well as a group welcome during the game.
