Jul 21, 2014

PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State wide receiver Gabe Marks was named to the 2014 College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) Wide Receiver Trophy watch list, the organization announced recently.

Marks, entering his junior campaign for the Cougars, is one of nine Pac-12 receivers included on the 40-member list. The winner will be announced January 14, 2015. Former Cougar safety Deone Bucannon was named the CFPA Elite Defensive Back Trophy last season.

Marks appeared in all 13 games last season, posting team-highs of 74 receptions and 807 yards while tying for the team-lead with seven touchdown catches. The Los Angeles native’s 74 catches were the second-most in WSU single-season history, highlighted by his WSU single-game record 13 receptions at Oregon. He finished the game with 143 yards and a touchdown.

The Cougars open their 2014 season Thursday, Aug. 28 against Rutgers in The Seattle Game at CenturyLink Field.
