Volleyball Ranked 18th In AVCA Poll

LEXINGTON, Ky. — The University of Colorado volleyball team continues to move up in the AVCA Division I Coaches Poll, this week coming in at 18th.

The Buffs (18-12, 10-8 Pac-12) moved up one spot from their 19th-place ranking last week. The Pac-12 Conference has an outstanding eight teams ranked this week. Top-ranked Stanford is the only undefeated team left in the NCAA Division I at 28-0. The other league teams in the poll are Washington (fifth), Oregon (13th), Arizona (14th), UCLA (17th), Arizona State (22nd) and Utah (23rd).  Oregon State and Southern California are receiving votes this week.

CU defeated California last Friday, Nov. 21, to earn a season sweep of the Bears. The win was also the first for the Buffs in Berkeley, Calif. The Buffs lost to No. 1 Stanford on Saturday, Nov. 22.  

The Buffs finish the 2014 regular season this weekend with a pair of matches. CU will host Oregon State on Wednesday, Nov. 26, at 3 p.m. in the Coors Events Center. Admission to the match is free. The Buffs will then face No. 23 Utah in Salt Lake City on Friday, Nov. 28 at 12 p.m. The NCAA Selection Show is set for Nov. 30 at 6:30 p.m. MT. It will be televised live on ESPNU.
