2015 Recruiting Class Ranked 14th by PrepVolleyball.com

2015 Recruiting Class Ranked 14th by PrepVolleyball.com

TUCSON - The Arizona volleyball recruiting class signed by head coach Dave Rubio and staff for the 2015 season is ranked 14th in the country by PrepVolleyball.com.

The class of four, outside hitter Meghan Buzzerio, outside hitter Kendra Dahlke, setter Sarah Dixon and outside hitter Tyler Spriggs, is one of the top classes in school history. All four players are ranked in PrepVolleyball.com’s Top 100, with three of them in the top 50 (Dixon – No. 30; Spriggs – No. 37; No. 49 – Dahlke; Buzzerio – No. 95).

Rubio says: “We anticipate all four to step in and make an impact immediately. The class fits and replaces the players that are graduating. We lose a lot of offense, but we’re hoping that this class will replace those skills and those types of players.”

PrepVolleyball says: "With Arizona’s 2015 class, the Wildcats look to restock its outside hitter corps as well as continuing to place a heavy emphasis on ball-control. This class is built around the three outside hitters. All have skill, size and athletic ability. All are Top 100 prospects and their collection of talent should help replace the major contributions Madi Kingdon and Taylor Arizobal made to Arizona’s recent success. Dahlke, the 2014 USAV 18 Open MVP, and Buzzerio will be expected to provide stability in serve receive and at the net while the athletic Spriggs, who has made significant strides in the last year with Mizuno Long Beach, will have a chance to impact on either pin. Dixon, the highest-ranked of Arizona’s Senior Aces, at No. 30, is a hard-working, cerebral setter who serves tough and plays defense.  She has been setting high-level teams for years."

The talented recruiting class is set to join the returners from Arizona's 24-10 2014 club, a team that finished third in the Pac-12 (12-8) and hosted the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament, highlighted by setter Penina Snuka, outside hitter Ashley Harris and middle blocker Halli Amaro, amongst many others.
