Women?s Basketball Adds Alli Gloyd to Staff

TUCSON, Ariz.--- Alli Gloyd has been brought in as the new assistant coordinator of women’s basketball operations, head coach Niya Butts announced on Wednesday.

Gloyd stays with the UA women’s basketball program after spending two years as the team’s starting forward. She started in all 60 games she played in over her two-year career, averaging 7.2 points and 5.7 rebounds per contest.

“We’re so excited to have Alli join our staff,” said Butts. “I have so much respect for the way she represented our program and athletic department as a student-athlete. She’s a hard worker and will be a great asset to our team.”

The Mesa, Ariz. native was a three-year letterwinner and was a member of the 2015 Pac-12 All-Academic First Team, as she collected a perfect 4.0 GPA during the year. She was also named UA Student-Athlete of the Month for the months of November and December due to her academic success in the classroom.

“I am truly grateful for the opportunity to still be a part of this program and university,” Gloyd said. “I look forward to helping the program have success both on and off the court.”

Her duties with the Wildcats will include overseeing all office duties, coordination with other departments, assisting with team travel and team meals, assisting the Director of Operations in all aspects and serving as the administrator for the Niya Butts Basketball Academy.

Gloyd earned her Bachelor's degree in Public Policy and Management from the University of Arizona in 2014, while she obtained her Master's degree in Educational Leadership in 2015, also from the University of Arizona.
