Pac-12 Women’s Basketball Performance Awards, presented by Nextiva - Feb. 26, 2024

The Pac-12 today announced its women's basketball performance awards, presented by Nextiva, for games played from February 19 - February 25 and voted on by media who cover the league. See below for this week's recognitions and keep track of the 2023-24 Player of the Year watchlist here:

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Esmery Martinez, 5th., F, Arizona (Hato Mayor del Rey, Dominican Republic) >> 2 G, 18.5 PPG, 9.0 RPG, 4.0 APG, 50.0 FG%, 100.0 FT%

• Posted 17 points and nine rebounds in Arizona’s upset of No. 3 Stanford (68-61), the Wildcats’ first road win against the Cardinal since 2001.
• Shot 46.7% (7-of-15) from the field against Stanford.
• Led the team with 20 points, nine boards and seven assists in the 87-68 win at California, guiding the Wildcats to their first road sweep of the Bay Area schools since 2001.
• Went 8-of-15 (53.3%) from the floor, and 3-of-3 (100.0%) from the line against the Golden Bears.
• First career Pac-12 Player of the Week award for Martinez, and Arizona’s 54th all-time.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK: Jada Williams, Fr., G, Arizona (Kansas City, Mo.) >> 2 G, 20.5 PPG, 3.0 RPG, 2.5 APG, 2.5 SPG, 50.0 FG%

• Tied a career high and led the team with 23 points against No. 3 Stanford (W, 68-61), helping the Wildcats secure its second AP Top-25 win this season. 
• Scored nine points in the final two minutes of regulation, and 14 in the fourth quarter, against the Cardinal.
• Added four rebounds and a pair of steals at Stanford. 
• Scored 18 points on 53.8% (7-of-13) shooting in the victory at California (87-68).
• Dished out three assists and had three steals against the Golden Bears.
• First Pac-12 Freshman of the Week honor for Williams, and Arizona’s fifth overall.
• First-ever sweep of the Pac-12 weekly awards for Arizona.
