In her first ever Pac-12 annual award, 5th year Cardinal has been named Specialist of the Year. The 2023-24 Team Captain scored a 9.90 or higher 17 times in her specialties this season (5 - bars; 6 - beam; 6 - floor), including becoming the first Cardinal to score a Perfect 10 since April 2018, and the first to get a perfect score on beam since February 2004. Despite fighting an ankle injury, Widner completed the regular season as one of only five Pac-12 Gymnasts to rank in the top-10 in the Conference in three or more events (Bars, Beam & Floor). On March 10th in her final appearance at Maples Pavilion against California, Widner’s Perfect 10 and career-best 9.975 on floor, contributed to the Cardinals’ best home score since 2004 (197.975). At the Pac-12 Championships, the 5th year took home her first career top-3 finish after scoring a second place 9.950 score on the beam, helping her team to a 4th place overall finish and becoming one of just two session-one athletes to take home a top-3 finish.
