TUCSON, Ariz.—The Arizona women's golf team finished in 9th place at the Stanford Intercollegiate on Tuesday. In the final round the Cats shot a combined score of 8-over par, 292. They finished with a combined score of 882 in all three rounds of the tournament. The Cats were 35 strokes behind the champion Stanford who finished with a combined score of 5-under par, 847.
Sophomore Krystal Quihuis finished tied for 30th with Northwestern's Janet Mao and Washington State's Cherokee Kim. Quihuis completed the final round with a score of 4-over 75. Her combined score from all three rounds was 219. She was 14 strokes behind leader UCLA's Bronte Law who shot 8-under 205 for the tournament.
Junior Wanasa Zhou finished tied for 33rd place with a combined score in the tournament of 7-over 220. She had her best day in the final round, shooting a 3-under 68. Zhou had four birdies in the final round.
Senior Lindsey Weaver and Junior Jessica Vasilic finished in a five-way tie for 46th place. Vasilic's final round score was 3-over 74 and Weaver finished 4-over 75. They both logged 10-over 223 as their combined score in the tournament. Freshman Gigi Stoll finished in a tie for 77th place with Auburn's Clara Baena. Her final round score was 6-over 77. She finished with a combined score of 22-over 235.
The Cats faced a tough course this week and will be looking to get back on track in the next two weeks before they head to Kona, HI for the Hawaii Pac-12 Preview.
