LAWRENCE, Kan. – After inclement weather suspended day one and caused delays in day two of the NCAA West Regional, three Arizona athletes achieved their goals and are headed to Eugene, Oregon for the NCAA Championships.
Sage Watson was the first to guarantee her place in Eugene, winning her heat with the fourth best overall time in the 400-meter hurdles at 57.08 seconds.
Lisanne Hagens would join her in the high jump taking sixth place at 5 ft. - 10.75 in. (1.80m). This is coming two weeks after Hagens won the Pac-12 title in the high jump.
Bailey Roth qualified for the men's steeplechase after running a huge personal record at 8:45.96 for sixth overall.
Day three will be next for the Cats tomorrow as they look to add a few more athletes to their quest to compete in the NCAA Championships in Eugene.
