Montgomery, Ala. – No. 38 Arizona won their sixth-consecutive match and are headed to the championship round of the Blue/Gray Tournament after defeating No. 32 Texas Tech 4-3 on Saturday.

Freshman Jonas Ziverts put the Wildcats on the board with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Tommy Mylnikov, the No. 114 ranked singles player, after dropping the doubles point Friday. Ziverts is off to a hot start at the University of Arizona winning his first six matches.
 
Down 2-1, Arizona clawed their way back with huge victories from the sophomores Igor Karpovets on court three and Carlos Hassey on court five. The Cats clinched the victory after junior Alejandro Reguant defeated Ilgiz Valiev 7-6, 3-6, 6-4. 
 
"We needed to step up today after our lackluster doubles yesterday," said head coach Clancy Shields. "Everyone showed up, played relentlessly, and left it all on the court. Proud of Alejandro having nerves of steel and playing big down the stretch. We are a young team and need to learn to handle success. We have challenged our young team to back this effort up in the finals. We are ready to get one more."
 
The 8-1 Wildcats will face off against a tough 7-3 Ole Miss team in the championship round of the Blue/Gray Tournament today at 4 pm (MST).
