Soccer Closes Out Spring Season Against GCU

TUCSON, Ariz. – The University of Arizona women's soccer team will close out their spring season in Phoenix against Grand Canyon University on Saturday April 13th at 2 p.m. MST. The match is free to attend and will take place at GCU Stadium.

The Cats put on a display last weekend in Tucson as they took down New Mexico by a score of 4-1 on Sunday afternoon. Brooke Wilson put the Cats on the board in the second and fourth minute, with Jada Talley following with a goal in the 14th minute. Wilson added to the score in the 31st minute to earn her first hat trick while playing for Arizona.

The Wildcats are coming off a 13-6-2 season, which saw them advance to the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament. Arizona returns three of their top four goal scorers in Talley, Jill Aguilera and Emily Knous.

A few key losses include Arizona's winningest player in school history, Kennedy Kieneker, and its winningest goalkeeper of all time, Lainey Burdett.

Last season, Talley led the Wildcats with seven goals and finished tied for the lead with 15 total points. Her counterpart up top, Aguilera scored four goals on the season and was second on the team with five assists. Knous stormed onto the scene as a freshman last year and scored four goals while dishing out three assists.

The Wildcats also return all four of their defenders as Morgan McGarry, Hallie Pearson, Samantha Falasco and Sabrina Enciso will be patrolling the back third once again.
