TUCSON, ARIZ.. – Sophomore
Jordan Geist was awarded the Pac-12 Men's Field Athlete of the Week honor for the second week in a row following his performance at the Triton Invitational. This is his fifth career weekly conference honor, and third for the Cats this outdoor season.
Geist threw a personal-best mark of 21.59m (70-11) to win the shot put invitational contest at the Triton Invitational. The mark is good for the No. 1 toss in the NCAA and Pac-12 Conference, is the No. 3 mark in the world and is the Arizona school record for the shot put. The toss also makes him the 10th best performer in the event, per the USTFCCCA. He also tossed a season-best mark of 55.54m (182-3) in the discus throw to finish third in the event and rank fourth on the Pac-12 list.
Geist will be in action at the Desert Heat Classic on Saturday, April 27th at Roy P. Drachman Stadium.
