TUCSON, Ariz. -- The Arizona women's golf team is headed to East Lansing, Mich. for the NCAA Regionals. The team drew the No. 2 seeding in the region.
The defending national champions drew the seed thanks to another successful regular season. The Wildcats won the Pac-12 Preview in November, knocking off the No. 1 overall seed USC in the process. Spring season wins at the Rebel Beach Invitational and the El Tigre Invitational boosted the Wildcats into the top ten.
Senior
Bianca Pagdanganan and sophomore
Yu-Sang Hou received Pac-12 All-Conference honors, and senior
Haley Moore was an honorable mention. All three will look to continue their strong seasons in the regional championships.
"We are very excited to head to the Midwest," said head coach
Laura Ianello. "My team has a lot of experience playing in tough conditions and top golf courses. It will be wonderful to be with two other top Pac-12 teams such as Stanford and UCLA. Our Cats will be ready to compete."
The NCAA Regionals begin on Monday, May 6th and conclude on Wednesday, May 8th. The top six teams from each regional will advance to the National Championship at Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Ark., May 17-22.
