Cats in Fourth after Play Suspended on Day Two of NCAAs

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. --The Arizona women's golf team took advantage of a much easier day at Blessings Golf Club, shooting even-par with a couple of holes remaining. Play was suspended due to inclement weather in the area. Senior Bianca Pagdanganan still has two holes to play, and fellow senior Haley Moore has only one left.

The Wildcats will finish their second round early Sunday morning with the rest of the tournament being altered after Saturday's bad weather. The 24-team tournament is now a 54-hole event rather than 72 holes. Teams will play the second round Sunday and third round on Monday morning. Following Monday morning play, the top eight teams in the team competition will advance to the Match Play portion of the tournament and the individual champion will be crowned after 54 holes, rather than the originally scheduled 72.

Pagdanganan continues to lead the tournament at 4-under-par as she was even on the day through 16 holes. Pagdanganan was 1-over on her first nine but birdied Nos. 2 and 6 to get back to level-par after teeing off on No. 10. Moore is 2-over on the round and currently sits in a tie for 9th. She continues to take advantage of the par-5s, birdieing 3 out of the 4 on the day.

The Wildcats ended the day in fourth place at 12-over, with several teams still to tee off in the second round Sunday.

Sophomore Yu-Sang Hou paced the Wildcats on day two, tallying seven birdies on her way to a 3-under round of 70. Hou improved on her first round by 12 strokes.

"After yesterday, the coaches and I talked about my round and we all agreed that my ball striking is pretty good, I just got some unlucky breaks," said Hou. "For today, I kept the focus on the distance and that turned out pretty good. It definitely gave me a lot more birdie chances than yesterday."

Freshman Ya Chun Chang shaved seven shots off her first-round score, making 15 pars en route to a round of 74 (+1). Junior Sandra Nordaas shot a second-round 86.
