By: Pac-12 Conference

Maximo Renteria, R-Sr., Oregon State (Clovis, Calif.)

For the first time this season, the Pac-12 has had a grappler win back-to-back Wrestler of the Week awards. Maximo Renteria, who won the last honor December 9th, gives Oregon State consecutive awards for the 1st time this season to join Little Rock who won the first three awards of this season.

Renteria picked up a 6-2 win at 125 pounds to open the Beavers' 28-12 win over Northern Illinois on Friday. Renteria, ranked 11th in the nation, picked up the win over No. 25 Blake West. Renteria and West battled to a scoreless first period and after West got a point for an escape, Renteria went up 3-1 thanks to a takedown. Starting on the bottom in the third, Renteria picked up a reversal before getting riding time for the 6-2 win.

The redshirt senior improved to 13-1 on the year, going 5-1 against ranked foes. He's wrestled a top-33 opponent in five consecutive matches, picking up four decisions over that stretch.
