Roundup: Get dating advice from Mike Leach

Sep 17, 2013

Washington State

Having trouble with ideas on where to take that potential special someone? Lucky for you, Mike Leach gives dating advice and reflects on his first date. Sounds like the main takeaway here, if you’re a dude, is to take her somewhere that doesn’t serve salad. So that takes just about everything off the table.

UCLA

So you go on the road to Nebraska, score 38 unanswered points to close out a dub, all the while dealing with a tragedy. What do you get? Being honored as the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl National Team of the Week like UCLA was for doing the above. The honors didn’t stop there, as Anthony Barr was named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week.

Oregon State

The other two Pac-12 Players of the Week were Beavers – Sean Mannion and Trevor Romaine – for their studly efforts in a 51-48 victory over Utah in the SLC, but let’s take you Third Wheeling with Storm and Cooks. Here's the top three lines from watching the two of them play FIFA. One -- “¿Cómo estás usted?” Two -- “Follow me on Twitter -- don’t follow this guy; you don’t want to follow losers.” And three -- “I expect dinner.”

Arizona State

After reviewing the events of a wild ending in Tempe Saturday night, the Pac-12 has reprimanded the game officials in the Wisconsin-Arizona State contest. Also, Sun Devil fans should vote for the football uniform Arizona State will wear against Colorado.

Colorado

Unfortunately, options are bleak for rescheduling Fresno State-Colorado after it was postponed due to severe flooding over the weekend. The squads are looking for a third party to switch bye weeks so they can make up the game; if not, Colorado might look to find another team to fill the gap.

Stanford

Drawn back from the diamond, a running back leads Stanford” -- a New York Times article on Tyler Gaffney returning to The Farm after a year away in the Pittsburgh Pirates’ organization.

Utah

Great scheduling news to hear with BYU and Utah agreeing to meet in 2017 and 2018. Timely with the two sides matching wits this Saturday.

Oregon

You know what Oregon fans think? That this Ducks squad looks even better than last year. Part of the reason why, perhaps, is because Marcus Mariota was NCAA.com’s Offensive Player of the Week after lighting up Tennessee.

Arizona

The Wildcats have played all three of its nonconference games, so what are the three things we’ve learned about Arizona football? According to Anthony Gimino, it’s that this is B.J. Denker’s team, it’ll be tough for Ka’Deem Carey to win the rushing title and the defense could be a real bright spot.

California

Let’s grade the week for Cal football with Jon Wilner. A passing grade, but not much better after surrendering 52 points to THE Ohio State University. Oh, and Missy Franklin recalls a prank she played during her verbal commitment.

USC

That Trojan defense has been ridiculously good thus far, but Lane Kiffin says that the USC defense will be challenged by Utah State, a squad that nearly knocked off Utah earlier this year. That Chuckie Keeton kid can play.

Washington

Ya know, since he’s leading the nation in rushing yards per game, Bishop Sankey can contend for the Heisman. At least that’s what The Husky Haul thinks.
