Pac-12 Announces Women's Soccer Players of the Week

Nov 10, 2015

SAN FRANCISCO - The Conference office announced today the Pac-12 Women's Soccer Players of the Week for action from Nov. 2-8. ARIZONA STATE's Cali Farquharson took home Offensive Player of the Week honors, while CALIFORNIA's Annia Mejia was voted Defensive Player of the Week and ASU's Chandler Morris was tabbed Goalkeeper of the Week.

Farquharson (Phoenix, Ariz.) scored three goals for the Sun Devils in their 4-1 victory over in-state rival then-No. 23 Arizona last weekend. Farquharson scored the opening goal just 51 seconds into the match to give ASU a lead they would not relinquish. She then scored 61 seconds into the start of the second half and her final goal came in the 49th minute for her third-career hat-trick. It is her third-career weekly honor and the 26th all-time for the Sun Devils.

Mejia (Bloomington, Calif.) scored her first-career goal against then-No. 3 Stanford to help California draw 1-1. Her goal snapped Stanford's shutout streak of 418 minutes. She played all 110 minutes in the match that saw the Bears prevent the Cardinal from going 11-0 in Conference play this season. It is Mejia's first-career honor and the 37th all-time weekly accolade for California.

Morris (Corona, Calif.) made six saves in Arizona State's 4-1 win over then-No. 23 Arizona last weekend. Farquharson scored in the first minute of action to give ASU a lead that Morris and the defense would not surrender. Morris made five of her six saves during a span of just over 20 minutes when ASU was up 1-0 in the first half. She also faced four corner kicks during that stretch. It is the senior's third-career weekly honor and ASU's 27th all-time.

No. 17 California hosts Loyola Marymount at 1 p.m. PT on Sat., Nov. 14 in the first round of the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship.
