No. 9 UCLA at No. 10 Oregon garners ESPN’s College GameDay in Eugene, headlining Pac-12 football’s broadcast coverage in week eight
SAN FRANCISCO – The marquee matchup between No. 9 UCLA and No. 10 Oregon on Saturday, October 22 has garnered the attention of College GameDay, as ESPN’s weekly college football pregame show is headed to Eugene to headline the broadcast coverage of Pac-12 football in week eight.
GameDay will kick off bright and early on ESPN at 6 a.m. PT / 7 a.m. MT. Fan favorites Rece Davis, Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, and Desmond Howard will be at the desk on Saturday to preview the action from Eugene and discuss the top storylines across college football.
GameDay will be making its 11th all-time appearance in Eugene and first since September 22, 2018, which saw the then-No. 20 Ducks knock off then-No. 7 Stanford, 38-31, in overtime. Notably, it’s the second-straight season GameDay has covered the UCLA-Oregon matchup, as the show aired live from Westwood in Los Angeles on October 23, 2021. Then-No. 10 Oregon pulled off a 34-31 victory in the Rose Bowl behind a four-touchdown performance from running back Travis Dye. Saturday’s show will mark the 38th all-time broadcast from a Pac-12 venue during the regular season.
No. 9 UCLA at No. 10 Oregon
Saturday, Oct. 22 at 12:30 p.m. PT / 1:30 p.m. MT on FOX
The two teams at the top of the Pac-12 standings are ready to square off at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, with kickoff between the Bruins and Ducks slated for 12:30 p.m. PT / 1:30 p.m. MT on FOX. It’s the first top-10 matchup between Pac-12 programs since the Apple Cup on November 25, 2018, a 28-15 victory for then No-10. Washington over then-No. 7 Washington State in Pullman.
No. 9 UCLA has achieved its highest national ranking since 2015 and enters the contest riding a nine-game winning streak and its first 6-0 start since 2005. Quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson continued his impressive campaign in the Bruins’ victory over then-No. 11 Utah on October 8, throwing for four touchdown passes and adding a score on the ground in the win. Zach Charbonnet leads the Pac-12 in rushing with 123.0 yards per game and rattled a career-high 198 yards and a touchdown in the victory over the Utes.
The No. 10 Ducks are 5-1 on the year, most recently securing a 49-22 victory over Arizona on October 8. Oregon’s offense has been firing on all cylinders, scoring at least 40 points in each of the Ducks’ five-straight wins and racking up over 500 yards in each of their last three games. Quarterback Bo Nix is currently second in the Pac-12 with eight rushing touchdowns and has added 12 more through the air.
