Defending Pac-12 Men's Soccer champion WASHINGTON has been voted the favorite to repeat in the 2023 preseason coaches poll. The Huskies garnered four first-place votes and 23 points to top the list for the third time in the past four seasons.

 

STANFORD checked in second with 21 points and a first-place vote. The Pac-12 polling aligns with the preseason national rankings as the sixth-ranked Huskies also narrowly edged the No. 7 Cardinal in the United Soccer Coaches poll revealed August 1.

 

UCLA, which is the first team among those also receiving votes in the preseason top 25, collected the final first-place vote and is picked third.

 

OREGON STATE, under the direction of first-year head coach Greg Dalby, CALIFORNIA and SAN DIEGO STATE round out the rest of the poll.

 

The Pac-12 has been the country's top-rated men's soccer conference each of the past two seasons according to the NCAA RPI. In 2022, the Conference had three top-10 seeds (#2 Washington, #5 Stanford, #8 Oregon State) among its four teams in the NCAA Tournament, just the second time in league history with a trio of single-digit seeds (2013). The year prior in 2021, the Pac-12 had the nation’s top two teams in the RPI (#1 Washington, #2 Oregon State) and the top two seeds in the NCAA Tournament (#1 Oregon State, #2 Washington).

 

The 24th season of Pac-12 Men's Soccer kicks off with non-conference play beginning Thursday, Aug. 24, followed by Pac-12 action starting on Thursday, Sept. 14. Currently, 33 matches are set for broadcast on Pac-12 Networks with additional matches to air on Pac-12 Insider, the free broadband streaming channel from Pac-12 Network.

 

The following are the results of the preseason coaches’ poll. Five points are awarded for a first-place vote, four points for a second-place vote, three for a third-place vote, etc. First-place votes are in parentheses. Coaches are not allowed to vote for their own teams.
