MEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Colton Smith, Jr., Arizona (Tenino, Wash.)

• Won two singles and two doubles matches from the No. 1 position over the weekend, helping Arizona to team victories over Miami (Jan. 27) and Baylor (Jan. 28).
• Battled back from a set down against Miami’s Vladislav Melnic, surging to a 6-7, 6-3, 6-2 win to provide the clinching point in the team battle. 
• Secured a 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 win over No. 32 Tadeas Paroulek from Baylor, helping to punch the Wildcats’ ticket to the ITA National Team Indoor Championship for the first time in program history. 
• It’s Arizona’s second Men’s Tennis Player of the Week honor this season, as Jay Friend secured the year’s first accolade on Jan. 16.

WOMEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Emma Charney, So., USC (Mount Pleasant, S.C.)

• Won a pair of singles matches and earned a doubles point across USC’s pair of wins on Friday, Jan. 26 against No. 21 Miami and No. 17 Tennessee. 
• Won 6-2 in doubles against Miami with partner Eryn Cayetano before picking up a 6-2, 7-5 win in singles over No. No. 90 Isabella Pfennig.
• Fought back after dropping first set against Catherine Aulia of Tennessee, ultimately securing a 5-7, 6-2, 6-3 win. 
• Helped the Trojans clinch their spot to the ITA National Team Indoor Championship.
