Stanford takes third to headline Pac-12 performances in 2023 NCAA Women's Swimming & Diving Championships
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The 2023 NCAA Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships concluded on Saturday with Stanford taking its 30th top-3 finish in program history as the Cardinal placed third with 333 points. Along with Stanford's podium finish, Pac-12 athletes and relay teams also collected three individual titles, 12 top-3 event finishes, and 27 All-America performances at Tennessee's Allan Jones Aquatic Center.
Stanford’s Taylor Ruck repeated as national champion in the 200-yard freestyle after swimming a 1:42.36.

Cardinal freshman and Pac-12 champion Claire Curzan added an individual national title in the 200 backstroke to her impressive debut season. Her time of 1:47.64 set a pool record and narrowly missed a personal and Pac-12 record.

Arizona's Olympic medalist Delaney Schnell capped her sterling collegiate career with her first diving national title, claiming first in the platform in her final collegiate event. Her 352.65 score was good for the highest podium finish and score from the Conference since 2014 (Haley Ishimatsu, 365.15).

Second-Place Finishers
- Ruck teamed with Torri Huske, Lillie Nordmann and Kayla Wilson to give Stanford its first podium finish of the Championships on opening night, placing second in the 800 free relay in 6:50.77.
- The Cardinal went on to capture second in the 200 and 400 free relays with Huske, Ruck, Curzan and Amy Tang comprising both teams.
- Huske swam a new Stanford and Pac-12 record in the 200 individual medley, finishing second at 1:50.06 to edge former Cardinal Ella Eastin’s 1:50.67 in 2018. Huske also earned yet another NCAA runner-up finish - her fifth of the meet - in the 100 free (46.46).
- Arizona’s Delaney Schnell took second in the 1-meter springboard for her third career runner-up national finish.
Third-Place Finishers
- Curzan, the 2023 Pac-12 champion in the event, swam the sixth-fastest 100 backstroke in Stanford history (50.08) en route to third place.
- Huske set another school and Pac-12 record, swimming to third in the 100 butterfly in 48.96, besting the mark she set during the 2023 Pac-12 Championships.
- California junior Isabelle Stadden took third in the 200 backstroke with the fourth-fastest time in school history (1:49.38).
