LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - Brad Jones scored 19 points and Ryan Dermody added 18 to help lift Wyoming to a 73-64 victory over Colorado Saturday.
The Buffaloes (5-4) clawed their way back in the game after being down by 20 points at halftime.
A 14-4 run midway through the second period pulled Colorado within 56-49, and Cory Higgins' 3-pointer with 2:09 remaining cut the Cowboys' lead to 61-55.
Another 3-pointer from Marcus Hall made the score 65-62 with 52 seconds on the clock, but Wyoming (4-3) made its final eight free throws to seal the win.
Jones finished 11-of-11 from the free throw line. Brandon Ewing scored 12 points and dished out a game-high six assists for the Cowboys. Travis Nelson added 12 points and Joseph Taylor pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds.
Marcus Hall led Colorado with 15 points. Richard Roby scored 12 points, while Levi Knutson added 11.
Dermody hit back-to-back 3-pointers as Wyoming jumped out to a 10-3 lead to open the game. Colorado pulled within 16-15 with 11:15 left in the period, but a 24-5 Wyoming run gave the Cowboys a commanding 40-20 halftime advantage.
Colorado will return home to face New Orleans on Wednesday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. in a game that will be broadcast on FSN Rocky Mountain.
