Owens Voted Pac-10 Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - ARIZONA's Tiffany Owens was named Pac-10 Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 15-21, Commissioner Larry Scott announced today. The senior outside hitter lifted the Wildcats to wins over Washington State and then-No. 11 Washington. The San Bernardino, Calif., native led Arizona to a four-set victory over the Cougars on Friday by totaling 17 kills and 12 digs for her 16th double-double of the year. Owens registered a .316 hitting percentage while tallying 18.5 points. On Saturday's Senior Night against the Huskies, Owens recorded another double-double with 26 kills and 26 digs while hitting .440 to help the Wildcats defeat Washington for the first time in eight years. As the match became close in the fourth set, Owens notched the final four kills for the win. In total, 10 of her 26 kills came during the final set. It is Owens's fourth career Pac-10 Player of the Week honor, second this season and the 29th weekly recognition for Arizona all-time. The No. 20 Wildcats hit the road for the last week of Pac-10 play. Arizona faces No. 4 Stanford on Wednesday and No. 2 California on Friday.
