WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - STANFORD's Cassidy Lichtman was named Pac-10 Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 22-28, Commissioner Larry Scott announced today. The senior setter/outside hitter led the Cardinal to straight-set wins over then-No. 20 Arizona and Arizona State last week to capture a share of the Pac-10 Championship, the team's fifth-straight title. The Poway, Calif., native averaged 2.38 kills, 5.16 assists and 3.25 points while hitting .487 with no errors in the two matches. Against the Wildcats, Lichtman was one of five Stanford players to register seven or more kills. She added 19 assists, five digs, two blocks and one ace in the victory. In the conference-title clinching match against the Sun Devils, Lichtman recorded her Pac-10-leading fourth triple-double of the season with 10 kills, 12 assists and 10 digs in three sets. Her .588 hitting percentage against ASU was also a season high. It is Lichtman's second career Pac-10 Player of the Week honor, second this season and the 74th weekly recognition for Stanford all-time. It is also the fifth time this year a Stanford player has earned the weekly award. The Cardinal earned the No. 3 overall seed in the 2010 NCAA Women's Volleyball Championship and will host Albany in the first round on Friday at 7 p.m.
