Eight Players Earn All-Academic Honors

Cal's women's water polo team had eight student-athletes earn Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches 2013 Women's All-Academic Awards, it was announced Thursday.

Outgoing seniors Emily Csikos and Breda Vosters garnered Outstanding honors with Grade Point Averages between 3.71 and 4.0. Outgoing senior Remington Price and junior-to-be Kelly McKee were placed in the Superior category with GPAs ranging between 3.41 and 3.70. Juniors-to-be Missy Hale and Savanna Smith as well as outgoing seniors Kirstn Mase and Taylor Dodson earned Excellent recognition with a GPA falling between 3.20 and 3.40.

Csikos, Vosters, Price, Dodson and Smith each were selected to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation All-Academic Team in May.

Csikos and Vosters demonstrated their excellent combination of academics and athletics by also earning All-American honors earlier this month for their play in the pool this season. Csikos was named a Second Team All-American while Vosters took home honorable mention.
