Letcher Named Associate Head Coach for Tennis

Aug 29, 2013

Arizona State women's tennis assistant coach Clint Letcher has been promoted to associate head coach, announced head coach Sheila McInernery.

“It is a well deserved promotion for Clint as he is entering his sixth year with our program and has been instrumental in our continued success both on the court and in the classroom,” McInerney commented.

“I have been very fortunate to work with Clint these past five years and feel confident that he represents Arizona State University and our women’s tennis program in all the right ways.  He is an outstanding individual and his tennis knowledge is exceptional.”

Letcher, a former Sun Devil, repeatedly posted winning records in both singles and doubles as a member of the men’s tennis team.  During his senior season at ASU, he played in the No. 1, 2, 3, and 4 positions, and posted 13 singles and 12 doubles victories.  Prior to his time at ASU, Letcher played in two Grand Slam Juniors at the Australian Open and at Wimbledon, where he was a quarterfinalist in junior doubles.

“The team has complete trust in his abilities as a teacher and coach and they enjoy being around him on a daily basis,” McInerney also commented.  “We are thrilled to name him associate head coach.”
