Men’s soccer rounds out non-conference play

Each team will play one more match in the final weekend before Conference play begins as Pac-12 men’s soccer prepares for the league slate... No. 5 WASHINGTON will host Southern Methodist in the sole televised game of the weekend. The matchup between the Huskies and the Mustangs will be broadcast live on Pac-12 Networks at 4 p.m. PT on Friday... The other five league teams face in-state competition, with No. 13 UCLA traveling to UC Riverside and STANFORD to UC Santa Barbara as No. 2 CALIFORNIA hosts Santa Clara and OREGON STATE welcomes Northwest... Three teams represent the Pac-12 in the NSCAA rankings for the fourth-straight week. The Bears moved up in the rankings to the No. 2 spot in the NSCAA weekly poll and the No. 1 spot in the Soccer America poll. Washington also jumped up one spot to No. 5 in the national rankings, while UCLA fell two rungs to No. 13 from No. 11. The fifth-spot ranking for the Huskies is the highest since 1992... Stanford goalkeeper Drew Hutchins was voted Pac-12 Player of the Week for Sept. 17-23 after posting two shutouts to help the Cardinal to its third- and fourth-straight victories on the season. The streak ties the school record for consecutive wins.
