California's Brandon Hagy named Pac-12 men's golfer of the month

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- Brandon Hagy of CALIFORNIA has been named the Pac-12 Men’s Golfer of the Month for September, the Pac-12 announced today. 

The senior from Westlake Village, Calif., led the Golden Bears to a pair of tournament wins at the Saint Mary’s Invitational and the Jack Nicklaus Invitational, as well as a fourth place finish at the Gopher Invitational. 

Hagy finished second at the Gopher Invitational with a 6-under 207 (70-69-68), then posted a third-place finish at the Saint Mary’s Invitational with a 5-under 211 (71-71-69) as the Golden Bears earned their first tournament victory of the season by 30 strokes. Hagy then capped off the month by leading the Bears to their second tournament win of the season, this time by 19 strokes, as he grabbed medalist honors with a 6-under 207 (71-67-69) at the Jack Nicklaus Invitational. 

Hagy has a 69.4 stroke average and has shot par or better in each of his nine rounds this season. 

California, which won 12 of 14 stroke play events last season, has now won 20 of its last 31 stroke-play events dating back to the start of the 2011-12 campaign and finished in the top five in all 31.
