Men’s soccer intensifies halfway through conference play

With just four weeks remaining in the regular season, Pac-12 men’s soccer continues to churn out thrilling performances. With two games ending in a tie and another two decided by merely one goal, the league enters the second half of Conference play this weekend mirroring last week’s schedule excepting CALIFORNIA and STANFORD... No. 3 WASHINGTON and No. 4 UCLA face each other for the second time in two weeks after playing to a 2-2 draw last weekend. The match will take place on Sunday and be broadcast on Pac-12 Networks... The undefeated Huskies also face SAN DIEGO STATE on the Aztecs’ home turf. Last Friday, Washington put on a dominating 5-3 performance over SDSU, despite two goals from Aztec senior forward Jordan Ongaro. San Diego State earned their first Conference victory last weekend, defeating OREGON STATE 1-0, and will take on the Beavers again this Sunday... UCLA played two ties over the course of the weekend, remaining at third in the Pac-12 standings with eight total points on the year... The Bay Area schools feature tough non-conference matchups as undefeated No. 1 California plays San Diego and STANFORD hosts San Francisco... Washington earned their third player of the week award of the season this week as freshman Cristian Roldan received his first-career weekly honor after scoring three goals over the course of the weekend.
