Pac-12 men's soccer ends postseason run

CALIFORNIA and WASHINGTON advanced to the national quarterfinals, but the postseason run came to an end as both teams were upset by their respective opponents... The Huskies’ historic season ended with a close 1-0 loss to New Mexico in their first-ever trip to the round of eight since the program’s inception in 1963 ... The Bears faced a tough rematch against Maryland and the Terps came back in the second half to earn the 2-1 victory in Cal’s third-ever trip to the national quarterfinals ... Earlier in the tournament, top-seeded UCLA fell in an upset in the third round, with Connecticut holding the Bruins 3-3 then advancing on penalty kicks ... STANFORD was the fourth team to earn a postseason berth and made it to the third round before falling to Conference opponent Washington.
